Edukasi Kepada Anak Putus Sekolah Dengan Cara Mengadakan Taman Membaca Di Desa Lemahabang, Kecamatan Lemahabang, Kabupaten Karawang

Abstract

The phenomenon of dropping out of school is still a serious problem that affects children's development. Dropping out of school not only prevents children from acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills, but also has long-term consequences that can harm their chances of achieving a better life. Lemahabang Village, Lemahabang District, Karawang Regency has a school dropout rate of 489 people.  This community service activity aims to provide education to out-of-school children in Lemahabang village by holding a reading park in Lemahabang Village, Lemahabang District, Karawang Regency.  The educational activity method used consists of the survey stage, socialization stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage. Activities will be carried out from August to September 2024 at Lemahabang Village, Lemahabang District, Karawang Regency.  One of the activities that has been carried out is holding a reading park as a means of learning and developing children's interest in reading as a form of education for children who have dropped out of school.  Based on the results of the evaluation of community service activities, there is an increase in the awareness of parents and children that education is very important, apart from that there is also an increase in parental involvement by 30-50%.
