Abstract

Current educational emphasis centers on the importance of developing students' social ethics. The basic problem at SDN 2 Karangmekar is that children do not understand the importance of ethics when interacting with other people. Applying a role-playing approach to increase students' understanding and accuracy in applying ethics is the aim of this research. Students can better understand how to act in various social situations by using role-playing techniques. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Information was collected through in-depth interviews and careful observation. In total, twenty-eight fourth grade students from SDN 2 Karangmekar participated as research partners. This research found that traditional tutoring services that use role acting to teach children about social etiquette are effective. Guidance counselors and instructors have a facilitative role in helping students identify and resolve ethical dilemmas. Together with guidance and counseling instructors, class discussion groups encourage student engagement and collaboration, which in turn fosters a sense of community around the learning process (especially in the classroom) and ultimately helps bring about positive attitude change.
