Stop Bullying: Strengthening the Character of Students of SDN 02 Sumbersari, Malang City

Bullying is one of the problems that is closely related to children, including children of elementary school age. The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) and the Federation of Indonesian Teachers' Unions (FSGI) reported that throughout 2023 there had been 2,355 cases of violations of child protection, where the highest percentage of victims were elementary school students with a figure of 26%. Community Service aims to provide an understanding to students of SDN 02 Sumbersari, Malang City regarding the meaning of bullying, types of bullying, the impact of bullying, and things that can be done if you become a victim of bullying or see a friend become a victim of bullying. This activity was carried out using a psychoeducational method combined with discussion and question and answer sessions, as well as ice breaking to eliminate student boredom. This activity involved the Brawijaya University Psychology Community Service Team consisting of 4 people and 42 students of SDN 02 Sumbersari, Malang City. The result of this community service is the emergence of elementary school students' understanding of the bullying phenomenon, which is indicated by a satisfactory post-test score, where out of 42 students, 17 students managed to get a score of 5 for the post-test, and 10 students managed to get a score of 4. The implications of this community service can be useful for strengthening the character of elementary school students and minimizing bullying in the school environment and other domains of life.
