Abstract

Reading is one of the skills needed in human life. Through reading, a person can obtain various knowledge and information that is not yet known. However, it is a shame that interest in reading in Indonesia is still very low. Especially in an era like now, reading habits have been pushed aside by gadgets and games. Not a few schools still implement a system of understanding material by teachers. Students just wait to be dictated by their teacher. This makes students less creative and their desire to explore various insights from books is relatively low. Based on the results of a survey by UNU KKN students in Cipeujeuh Kulon village, it shows that the majority of students, especially at SDN 1 Cipeujeuh Kulon, still have low interest in reading. This is the basis for the formation of a 15 minute reading habituation work program before learning as an option for UNU Cirebon KKN students. Students work together with the school to try to get into the habit of reading a book for 15 minutes before learning begins. It is hoped that this habit can become a routine agenda every day at SDN 1 Cipeujeuh Kulon.
