Abstract

Waste management issues in Kondangsari Village pose a major challenge to environmental cleanliness and public health. Through a community service program, a Waste Bank was implemented as an integrated, community-based waste management solution. The methodology involved observation, interviews, system design, facility implementation, as well as community outreach and training. The results show the establishment of Waste Bank facilities at the neighborhood level, successfully processing organic waste into compost and inorganic waste into items with commercial value. In the first two months, the program managed approximately 60% of household waste and provided additional economic benefits to participating residents. Therefore, the Waste Bank implementation has proven effective not only in reducing waste volume but also in enhancing environmental awareness and sustainably empowering the community's economy.
