Abstract
The Qur’an waqf program was implemented with the aim of enhancing community literacy in Qur’anic learning, particularly in Heuleut Village and its surrounding areas, which still face limitations in religious facilities and resources. This program involved the distribution of waqf Qur’ans accompanied by guided activities in reading and understanding the Qur’an, serving as a medium for learning Islamic teachings across various age groups. Through this initiative, it was expected that community members would not only gain access to Qur’anic texts but also develop proper and fluent (fasih) recitation skills and the ability to comprehend its contents.
The results of the program indicate an increase in community participation in religious activities, as evidenced by the growing attendance at places of worship, especially among children and adolescents. Furthermore, the distribution of waqf Qur’ans successfully stimulated greater enthusiasm among residents to actively engage in learning Qur’anic recitation and participating in religious studies.
In conclusion, the distribution of waqf Qur’ans is effective in strengthening Qur’anic literacy, enhancing religious discipline within the community, enlivening places of worship, and fostering stronger social cohesion among community members.
