Zero Waste Indonesia Sebagai Solusi Konservasi Lingkungan Dengan Ecofurnies

Abstract

Plastic waste has become one of the biggest environmental problems in the world. Every year, millions of tons of plastic waste are generated and pollute the environment. Plastic takes hundreds of years to decompose, so it accumulates in the environment and causes various damages. As the next generation of the nation, we must cultivate creative and innovative in achieving zero waste. The purpose of community service activities is to get learning to the community of bottle and plastic waste collectors in utilizing this waste into ecofurnies that have economic value so that they can participate in saving the environment. The method used in this community service activity is to provide learning and training in making household goods from unused bottles and plastic materials. In addition, it is taught to market the results of these ecofurnies in the form of sofas, tables, lounge chairs, flower vases, wall hangings, and others. This activity has a very positive impact, especially for the waste collectors around the Cipayung landfill, Depok City, West Java so that the collected waste can be produced by themselves and can increase their income. As for students, it teaches them that used goods are not always useless.
