EDUKASI MENABUNG SEBAGAI PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER HEMAT ANAK DIMASA EMAS PERTUMBUHAN : STUDI DI DESA SINDANGHAYU

Abstract

The golden age of childhood is a crucial period for developing frugal character and saving habits. The phenomenon in Sindanghayu Village shows that children tend to be consumptive and have not yet understood the importance of saving. This program aims to instill saving habits through educational activities involving both children and parents. A participatory and interactive approach was applied through socialization, educational games, and direct saving practice using simple piggy banks.Evaluation was conducted through behavioral observation,brief interviews with children and parents, and recording the development of savings over 14 days. The evaluation process took place directly in the field to assess changes in attitudes, discipline, and daily saving consistency. The results showed a 78% increase in the average amount of children’s savings compared to before the program, along with greater enthusiasm and understanding of the benefits of savingParental involvement also strengthened the sustainability of saving behavior at home. This program proved effective in fostering discipline, responsibility, and financial independence from an early age, serving as an essential first step in shaping children’s frugal character during their golden developmental period.
