Cases of sexual violence against children show an increasing trend every year and have complex psychological, social, and legal impacts on victims. Although various laws and regulations exist, such as Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection and Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence, their implementation in the field still faces various obstacles. This study uses a normative juridical method with a qualitative approach, aiming to analyze the extent to which the Indonesian legal system is able to provide effective and equitable legal protection for child victims of sexual violence. The results show that in Decision Number 163/Pid.Sus/2020/PN Brebes, legal protection for child victims has been partially implemented, such as closed examinations, concealing the victim's identity, and legal assistance. However, aspects of recovery, such as psychological rehabilitation and restitution, have not been optimally accommodated in the decision. This study recommends the need to strengthen the juvenile criminal justice system to be more child-friendly and focused on comprehensive victim recovery, including the provision of psychosocial services, rehabilitation, and restitution. This is expected to ensure comprehensive and equitable legal protection for children as victims of sexual violence.
